200h Anusara® Yoga Teacher Training Programme

Co. Leitrim, Ireland -Starting August 8th - September 2nd 2018
Intensive Residential Yoga Teacher Training Course
Programme Content

The Anusara 200hr Intensive Residential Programme is made up of two distinct 100 hour parts, each with its own distinct curriculum. Both courses are superbly designed to bring the student on a journey of self-enquiry, deepening of personal practice and learning how to teach what you know and understand in a clear and empowering way.  On this programme we will complete the Immersion and move directly to Teacher Training.

FT100I – Anusara Yoga Immersion Course

Our Anusara Yoga 100 Hour Immersion is an invitation to anyone who wishes to go deeper into their own practice and understanding of all things yoga.

Yoga is so much more than simply moving on your mat, it is a potent means for self-discovery and requires that the practitioner has courage to open up not only the physical body but the heart and mind too.  In this part-time training we offer space and guidance to do just that while going deeper into the practice and learning.

In this introduction to the basic philosophy, alignment principles and practice of Anusara yoga, we will study and explore:

  • Universal Principles of Alignment™ – technique, lectures and asana practice

  • Yoga Philosophy

  • Pranayama and Meditation

  • Anatomy and Physiology

  • Journaling and contemplation

The Immersion is a pre-requisite for registration in the Anusara Teacher Training!

FT100T – Anusara Yoga Teacher Training Course

Anusara yoga offers students, teachers and trainees one of the best yoga teacher training an opportunities in the world. Students will use the skills and knowledge acquired in the Immersion and add to that key teaching skills that will help them grow into wonderful confident yoga teachers.

  • Asana Practice

  • Pranayama and Meditation Practice

  • Philosophy and Lifestyle

  • Anatomy & Physiology

  • Applicants must have a strong practice and understanding of yoga. It is difficult to say in terms of ‘years of practice’ how many are required as everybody starts at a different point and learns at a different rate.

  • Application form including photo of student in Trikonasana (Triangle), Adho Mukha Svanasana (Dog head down) and Sukasana (easy sitting or other sitting pose) must be submitted.   Please do not be intimidated by the photos, they are only needed to give us an idea of your sense of alignment in practice. If you are able to come and meet us prior to August then there will be no need for photos.

Other Programme Info

Come and join us for Ireland’s only intensive Anusara yoga teacher training. This programme gives you a chance to live and breathe yoga, immersed in a peaceful and inspirational setting. To take part requires strong commitment, enthusiasm and stamina from students with a passion for yoga that they want to develop further.

The training takes place over an intense period, covering around 9 hours a day. We plan to work every day with the exception of 2 full days off and 3 half days.  Make no mistake, this is an intensive course, but one which is completely transformational!

Yoga Anatomy

We will look at the body structures relative to our yoga practice. The focus will be on the skeletal system and the muscular system as well as subtle anatomy. As a yoga teacher it is key that you understand how the body moves optimally.  We learn both at a cerebral level and on a kinesthetic level and use this learning and knowledge to ‘see’ our students more clearly.

Living Yoga

The intensive nature of the course will be very challenging on a lot of levels. You will be with the group for long hours each day which is great as a support as you can help each other in your understanding of all the new material you are absorbing on a daily basis. Living together harmoniously requires thought and structure.

You must commit to:

  • Being responsible

  • Looking for the best in everyone including yourself

  • Doing your fair share

  • Keeping all your personal belongings tidy

Karma Yoga

During the course of the programme students will be assigned basic household duties to ensure the studio and cabins are in good order.

There will be short ‘empowerment reviews’ as the course progresses but there are no formal exams as such.  These tests will show both you and the faculty what you know regarding technical skills and the Universal Principles of Alignment.  In this way the tests are really an empowerment tool.  The emphasis will be on teaching what you know and teaching it well.

Instead of a formal exam, a process of continuous assessment will run throughout the course.  Students must display that they have taken on board any critique and instruction from the director.  Towards the end of the course students will teach a class which may be open to the wider yoga community (depending on numbers).  This class can be considered the final assessment.

In short, 100% attendance does not guarantee a qualification!  We must see ongoing improvement.
